Do We all see differently??

I read that people with blue eyes see lighter colors than people with brown eyes.

I have blue eyes, and find it strange to think that my freinds with brown eyes are experiencing a totally different world than I am. What if my Navy is their turquise? This website says that people with brown eyes do better with glares. Somtimes when I am outside with my friend Lindsey(brown-eyed), I can’t bear the light. I feel blinded, and have to shut one eye. I explain to her how blinding the sun is, but she tells me no, it is normal too me. It seems so alien to me to think that we all see the world differently. This website also suggests that brown-eyed people see better at night. That seems weird to think that when I think it is dark, someone else might not think that. How does a scientist come to this conclusion? You cannot measure this type of thing like you can the mass of an egg, or the length of a carrot. This article also suggests that men with blue eyes prefer women with blue eyes. My parents are both blue-eyed, and all of my grandparents are too. I do not know if I belive that, because I know plenty of mixed-eyed couples. It intrigues me to think that one small change in color can cause a whole different world.

  1. Hi Savannah! It’s Lindsey. This is an interesting topic… I wonder if that’s really the case? Maybe if we were both in a cave, you would be able to see the walls and I wouldn’t. Also, what about people with green or hazel eyes?

  2. Weird…but interesting topic!
I’ve never heard of this before, but it seems extremely neat that Lindsey R. or you, Savannah, might see colors differently than I do. I am also wondering the question that Lindsey asked:
What about people with green or hazel eyes? (Which I have)

  3. Hey Savannah!

My mom is the only one in my family with blue eyes and she told me that people with blue eyes have a lot more sensitive eyes to the sun and other lights.
It is really cool to think that you might see one thing and I might see another. I have brownish- green eyes. Your blog topic would be a great science project! I love your interesting facts. Keep posting them!

  4. I probably have the most interesting case of all. I, according, to all my friends, have changing eye colors. Sometimes I have blue eyes, and then I have gray eyes, and then I have green eyes! Do you think I have something wrong with my eyes? Even my parents think that I have some different eyes sometimes. What do you have do say about that?

  5. well yall (aggie) I think that if you have bluer hazely eyes or browner hazely eyes you will see to that color. aggie you probably see on the blue side.

  6. Yeah Aggie I think you have gray eyes. That would be like blue, right? I bet green eyes woud be somewhere in the middle, also.

  7. well, like ur dads eyes are hazel, write lindsey?? his hazel is probably from the brown family, because its like impossible for youre eyes to be brown if both ur parents eyes were like a true blue.

  8. I think the iris color must have something to do with it. Maybe something with the way the iris color filters the light? I find that when the sun is really bright when I walk outside, I’ll sneeze out of nowhere. I believe it’s called photic sneezing. It seems like the body is trying to protect your eyes from the sudden light increase. I have turquoise eyes, and I find after I’ve been inside for a while, the sun outside is very bright.

  9. savvy-
That is a very good question. One time, I had a tennis coach that told me that he was color blind!! Oops. Never tell a lie! He told me that he was PARTIALLY color blind. I think that not being able to completely see colors would be a hard life. You would never be able to be an artist! Sometimes, I wonder if dogs are color blind. Can my dog see the color of her toys???

  10. dogs cant see colors. so yea, hershey cant tell. i guess if you’ve never seen color how strange it must be. they had a blind guy and gave him his sight and he was always blind, even as a baby, so when they gave him his sight he went mad cause it was too intense. i guess hershey doesnt know what hes missing.

  11. That is kind of like how kids can hear certain pitches that adults can’t. It is weird to think that there is something that we can hear that no one older than us can.

  12. That’s weird cause I have brown eyes and the sunlight sometimes makes me snEEEZe! I wonder about that too. What if everyone saw different. What if my blue was someone elses yellow!! That’s creepy!!!!! I wanna know!!!

  13. I don’t know. That actually seems a little scary. I don’t think that people see totally differently. Maybe just different shades of the color. Like if you are looking at a purple piece of paper and somebody says its lavender but the other person is arguing that its another shade. Maybe it means something like that. I hope, because thats so freaky!

  14. As I was reading this blog, it kind of made me think of how someone born in one place may have a totally different view of the world than someone born in another environment. Small changes can affect a persons whole life and I guess that’s what makes us unique as people.

I also wanted to say that both of my parents have blue eyes, but my aunt has blue eyes while my uncle has brown eyes, so I agree with you. I don’t think that statement was entirely true.

    Good Blog!!
