One thing you guys probably don’t know about me is that I enjoy photography. I’ve been doing it for several years and have got quite a nice collection of photographs. Of course, like anyone born in the 90s I use a digital camera rather than a film type. I carry my camera with me whenever I go on vacation and use it to document the surrounding area. I particularly enjoy nature photography. Here is a sample of some of my photographs.
I took this picture in Wyoming in early 2007. It is a photo of Grand Teton, a mountain.
This is a picture of my cats, Pouncer and Shiner. In this photo, Pouncer is the one looking like an idiot. When I took this photo, he just happened to yawn, causing this to be the result.
This, is quite simply, a picture of a rose. It doesn’t really mean much, but it’s pretty.
Oh, and in case you’re interested in photography as well, here’s a link to flickr, photo sharing website.
OK, I’m probably going to offend some people whose parents smoke but here goes. I really hate smoking. Lung cancer killed my grandmother. Ever since she died, my grandfather has become reclusive and hostile toward his children, my dad and aunt, and has now moved to Florida. Those cigarette companies don’t care about the lives they are destroying or the families they are tearing apart. Do you know what they put into those cigarettes? Here is a list, courtesy of this website.
Ammonia: Household cleaner Angelica root extract: Known to cause cancer in animals Arsenic: Used in rat poisons Benzene: Used in making dyes, synthetic rubber Butane: Gas; used in lighter fluid Carbon monoxide: Poisonous gas Cadmium: Used in batteries Cyanide: Deadly poison DDT: A banned insecticide Ethyl Furoate: Causes liver damage in animals Lead: Poisonous in high doses Formaldehiyde: Used to preserve dead specimens Methoprene: Insecticide Megastigmatrienone: Chemical naturally found in grapefruit juice Maltitol: Sweetener for diabetics Napthalene: Ingredient in mothballs Methyl isocyanate: Its accidental release killed 2000 people in Bhopal, India in 1984 Polonium: Cancer-causing radioactive element; a form of it was used to kill former Rusian spy Alexander Litvinenko
So, how does smoking a cigarette sound to you now?
What picks me up is several things. The first and best is probably my family. When I am feeling really down and out, my family is always there to help me snap out of it and disprove my irrational fears and worries.
The second one has got to be my friends. These guys can really help me snap out of it, and give me someone to talk to about things that I wouldn’t share with my family in a million years.
Another thing I do to snap out of it is think about what’s making me sad. If I realize that I’m interpreting someone’s actions incorrectly, I usually snap out of it.
The only other way I can think of is just plain relaxing, usually in front of some type of screen. If I just watch TV, my problems go away for awhile and by the time they come back, I usually don’t care about them anymore.
