Assignment #4
During the past few years, NASA has created a rover to roam the surface of Mars like no other rover has ever done. The robot will have the most effecient camera and have the most complex programs so that NASA could have more information about Mars and if there is life on the red planet. Doing this will still take a while, but with the right programming NASA will be able to search the planet like people on Earth would go to the other side of the world and search new areas. NASA is not just making this rover go onto Mars’ surface but onto the rest of the planets as well.
This rover will be in history. But how will it go the distance you may ask? It will go the distance by the prgramming of course! The rover will have the most complex programs and will even try to go to Pluto, the planet we have been looking into for the longest of times. The program is everything. Without it the rover cannot do anything. NASA has the rover built. Everyting is ready. Guess what NASA is still working on. You guessed right. The programs. The programs are really hard to do but NASA will figure it out.
To conclude, NASA is makinga rover to search the Red Planet and the rest of the planets. The programming is everything. Programming is the most important thing in the rover buissness. This robot will go the distance with programming!!!!

The rover flew into orbit of mars on march 10, 2006. It got several times more data than the previous space caft.

Blog Assignment #4 (Chapman Monroe)
Programming a robot would be useful if a Mars rover landed crooked, you could use the program to set it straight. For example, say that it’s next year in 2010 and a robot was sent to Mars to learn more about the mysterious methane leaks that have occurred there. Programming would be useful in this instance because you may not know exactly where the methane is coming from, you could use the robot to figure out which direction the methane is coming from and then program it to find the exact location. Another instance you could use the programming in this scenario is if the robot is headed toward a crater or canal, you could program the robot to turn so that it wouldn’t fall in and break.

The Dawning (Blog Assignment 4)
2088 ~ NASA has just created a new rover called the Dawning. The Dawning will be used to travel to Mars and search out the planet. It is designed to be melt resistant and have a giant, very special camera on it. This camera is a sonar/video camera that tracks life on planets. Once it lands on Mars, it will roam the surface with its camera on the search. If it finds life forms, then it will trace them down at 280 power so they can’t get away. Once it reaches them, the Dawning will then take pictures and mark where it was found with an invisble to the unaided eye x. It will then travel back to Earth to land safely at the NASA center where its information will be downloaded onto a highly protected computer system where the scientists of NASA will analyze it.

Draft 4
It is 2079 and the NASA program landed a rover on mars named The Night. The Night is a special rover that can transform into a Giant Knight with wheels for feet and a big gold staff while The Night was roving he sees an alien. The Night must go 17 durations to the side to block the aliens punch. Then he must go 20 durations with 100% power forward to strike the alien with his staff. Then he must go 600 durations with 110% power to get off mars.

In shock
Did you guys plug in the robot? Yesterday , which was 2-4-09, period 5 didn’t even touch our robots. We went to Hussman’s room to watch a movie. Did someone unplug it during tutorial or something?

Assignment #2
My experience with Recon (his nickname) was a very good but difficult one like Peytons. It had been difficult because of all of the accidents that Recon has been having. The travling 4 meters was successful (of course) and the rest of the thing is done as well. Claudia and I are currently on the obbstical course . We have skipped the 1-2 part because of traffic and we are currently working on 2-3. But we are unsuccessful. These are some of the reasons. 1. the desktops are dinosaurs (sorry Mr. B!!!! ) and they wouldn’t download the program into the robot very quickly. 2. one time Recon had no power at all and wouln’t let us work anything on him. It wouldn’t even let us shut him down to charge him. 3. This is the last problem that we have been having. And been having for a long time. Recon will not go straight. He would curve even though that is not in the program. I don’t know if it is because the power is too high or if something happened when we re-built him. Like I have said before, this has been happening after the re-building. Claudia and I have tried to put the right things back together to fix the robot. I think that with each period we should try to fix him and try to make him PERFECT again. Because at first, he was the best robot EVER!!! I know that we can do it.
Did any of you guys and girls have the same problem like us??? Did you try to fix it and successfully? If so, what did you try to do? Did you guys and girls put the charger back into him or let him off the “hook”? Did something happen again? Any other problems?

Recon Not Working
Today, Shulie and I were trying to start the obstacle course, but we couldn’t because Recon had low power. So we turned it off and charged it for 5 min. and tried again, but it wouldn’t work. Then, it froze up. We couldn’t turn it off or change the screen. It was really weird. Did anyone else have this problem? Or more importantly, did anybody mess with him or do something to him?
[[ whoever had period 6 science, did it work for y'all? ]]

Assignment #2 (chapman monroe)
So far my experience with creating a program to get a robot to travel 4 meters in a strait line has been successful. Getting the robot to travel 4 meters wasn’t that much of a challenge however keeping it going in a strait line seems practically impossible. Although overall I thought that it was pretty easy to accomplish this task, a few obstacles that Emily and I encountered were greatly underestimating the length of one wheel rotation so the robot ended up going about 8 meters instead of 4. Another obstacle that we faced was that crisis about the robot being built wrong and having to rebuild it. I have learned a lot about the variables that we have worked with so far. I have learned that power controls the speed of the robot and that duration controls the distance that the robot will travel. All in all it think that what we have done in terms of programming the robot has been very successful. ♥ ©2009

Recon Assassin as Clay and I would say is the coolest robot ever. I was sort of easy after you got programing down. One obstacle was figuring out if the power changed or did anything. The most important variable is duration which determines how far the robot travels. Also power is how fast a robot can go if the number is between 1 and 100 the robot will go the same distance but as fast.
