This blogging thing has really got me thinking now! I just sent an email to my aunt who teaches in Malaysia. In it, I asked her if she thought her class would be interested in blogging with my third grade class next year. I stated that blogging is a perfect example of our new “flat” world.
After reading most of the blogs suggested in this week’s lesson, I now realize the value of blogging. What better way to get these nine year olds to realize the ease at which they can communicate with people half way around the world! The blog I enjoyed the most was the duck blog,
I also enjoyed the example of a daily student blog where the best student posts were awarded the “hall of fame.”
One blog entitled Betchablog I presented some challenges for those who think they are technology savy. I shared it with my 13 and 15 year old sons. I could relate to the blog written by a guy in Oregon who is also a third grade teacher.
