What is the best car company?

I would choose, interms of practicality, Toyota because they are rated number 1 in reliability and they make really nice cars. But if I had to choose which  produced my favorite car I would choose Bugatti. In my opinion nothing can beat them.

You may be wondering what the smallest car in the world is. I had always wondered that because you never really get to know these really interesting things. Well I happened to find out on a Top Gear (a British car show) episode. The smallest ever automobile to go into production is the,

Peel p50

From the name it does not sound very appealing but what a car it is. It has three wheels, rear wheel drive and doesn’t have a reverse gear. It weighs 130 lb(very very light). They cost, when they were in production just about £200. The car was produced from 1963-64. Only 50 were made.

After seeing that did you think it was going to be anything like that? It really is something out of this world. If only they still made it.

You are probably thinking that the picture above is fake. But in fact it is actual islands. These man made islands are off the coast of the United Arab Emerites, which if you don’t know is in the middle east. It is east of Saudi Arabia and north of Oman.

These islands were man made by putting dirt and concrete blocks over each other many times. The two islands represeant palm trees. The islands are very close to the fastest growing city in the world, Dubai. You might have heard of the hotel. The Burj al Arab. This may ring a bell, it has a tennis court at the top sticking out over the beach. Well here is an amazing video of the city and all the plans for momentous buildings and the Burj Dubai (different then the hotel).

The palm tree islands are amazing but it gets better. They also made a group of islands look like the world. It really is unbelievable.

The story goes as….

My mom lived in Beirut, Lebanon in the late ’60s and ’70s. In 1978 Israel invaded Lebanon. My moms house was in mountainous area around the city of Beruit so the house over looked the city. When the Israeli army got to Beruit my mom, my two aunts, my uncle and my grandparents could see the missiles and bombs that were going off in the city. One day while my mom was in high school the israeli amy came to the school. They ordered everyone to go to the tennis courts of the school. Once everyone was in it they closed it and posted guards around it. Then they moved their tanks into the school. My mom and some of the other high schoolers had to sing songs and tel stories to the younger children so they wouldn’t get scared of the soldiers and tanks. Then the army started firing from the tanks in to the city because the school overlooked the city. The principle of the school which was my mom’s uncle was arguing with the soldiers but they wouldn’t budge. After that whole thing the principle would say to the students that they wouldn’t stop school and that would be the way to protest against the Israelis. When ever the alarm went off that there was an airaid my mom said all the students would get scared including her. Thankfuly the war did end and the school survived.

That is the story that was told to me by my mom.

Similar to the 4 door sedans the 2 door sedans are basicly a sedan but with just two doors. These cars usually look more sporty but the engines are the same.

Another type of car that is similar to the 4 door sedan would be the luxury sedan. They also have 4 doors. But these cars can be more powerful and more luxurious. They usually cost more(around $30,000 to $65,000) and the power they produce would be around 230hp to 350hp. These cars most likely have lower mpg. An example of this would be the BMW 5 series or the Acura TL. These cars sometimes also come in a 2 door version such as the BMW 330ci.

After the luxury sedan comes the two door sports car. Now don’t get this confused with super cars. These cars are powerful, stronge and have a hard ride. These cars usualy have samll sized engines and a good amount of hp but since these cars are so light they can go very fast. An example would be the:

Then comes the highend stuff. From luxurious Rolls Royces to sporty Lamborghinis. There are so many cars in this section. These cars are very, very expensive and powerful. These have usually 2 doors and have an enigine that produces 400 to 1250hp. Which is a lot! My favorite car is the Bugatti Veyron. It is arguably the fastest car in the world today. Its top peed is 257mph but it comes with a high price. $1.5 Million! But thats the very, very top.

Now come the Suvs and trucks. I put these together because I do not want to make this post pain stakingly long and also they sort of go together. Suvs come in two different bodies. There is the car based SUV such as the Toyota Highlander or there are truck based SUV such as the Toyota Seqoua. The main and biggest difference is that truck based SUVs are higher. Then comes truck. The good old pick up truck. These have a lot of torque, which for those of you who do not know what that is, it is the pulling power of the engine.

Finaly this section I will call the other cars. Some examples of other cars would a smart car or a strech Hummer limo. These cars tend to be goofy looking but can be very nice cars.

If I had to choose one of these I would choose to have highend cars. The Bugatti Veyron of course. You choose now. Which one? I have left out a couple of types of cars so you can choose it even if it is not on this post. And one other question. Do you think there should be so many different types? I do not think there should. We have no need for all of them. One truly does not need to get this special type or this one. I disagree with all the types but more importantly. Why so many companies?

Im starting my blog with a difficult yet interesting question. Would you rather have a sports car or luxury car? Let me explain both. When I say a sports car I mean something with a lot of power, a big, loud engine, and a hard suspension. When I say a luxury car I mean a quiet, and comforting car. Now, you may be wondering why you would even think about having a sports car? Some people are just going to like the nice, quiet car and I have no problem with that but I would put it this way, it is like having the chose between a cat which are most of the time calm, quiet and collected or a lion which is still a cat but it has an edge to it.

In my opinion I would chose the sports car anyday over the luxury car. The sports car has the rough feel to it that I favor. One of the most obvious things is that the sports car is that it can usually go faster. It is possible to find sports cars such as the Rolls Royce Phantom Drop Top or the Bently Flying Spur that also are luxurious but for this post I am going to stick with all out sports car or all out luxurious cars. Now its your turn. You chose between the luxurious car or the sports car.
